"My Kid Is Brilliant!"

This is what parents think when their kid reaches a new developmental milestone. When Allie was first born we acted like we had done this thing that no one else has ever done before. Now that she's growing we freak out every time she does something new. I mean "jump up and down squeeling like a five year old girl" kind of freak out.

Still watching Curious George after rolling over
Last night she rolled over for the first time on the bed. Granted we were coaxing her with Curious George on the laptop and I was sitting on the edge of the bed so she had a little leverage, but still, right after she did it we SCREAMED with excitement. It scared her haha. (she may never roll over again to avoid this reaction again haha).

This week Allie has started REALLY gnawing on her hands and bats at some of her hanging toys. When we put a toy in her hand she will hold on to it and she pulls down on her pull toys. Today I figured Id try putting a rattle in BOTH her hands instead of just one. SUCCESS! She immediately decided that this thing belonged in her mouth haha.

nomnomnom

After holding it a few minutes she realized that moving her hands made it make sounds and she got excited and started shaking her arms furiously. This led to her promptly knocking herself in the head with said rattle and freaking out. I REALLY wanted to take a picture of her crying but I figure that'd make me bad mommy material so I picked her up laughing my head off at how adorable the whole thing was. And of course, because I think my kid is brilliant for hitting herself in the head with a rattle I took a thousand pictures of her:
